The First Nations’ Children By: Destiny Wood

Some of the First Nations’ Children live in Nunivut. It’s cold and it snows there. Also, the First Nations’ Children don’t eat the way we eat. Their parents have to hunt animals, make a fire and prepare meals. The animals they eat are bears and seals that live in Nunivut. Sometimes people build their houses of sticks and of ice blocks, to build an igloo. The jackets they wear are made of fur and seal skin. They wear gloves, also, made of seal skin and rabbit fur. The boots are made of seal skin. They build their igloos by hand. They shape the snow into ice blocks. The kind of snow they have is hard so it’s easier to build. For their transportation, they have a sled and dogs, called huskies. The way they get fish is to have a sharp stick to stab them.
