In today’s fast developing society, individuals have a difficult time maintaining their health, because they are unable to balance their personal life and their health. Since they are unable to prioritize their time and actions, they tend to develop health issues which create long-term negative health impacts on them. If everyone, within society, managed time and spent some time managing health, it can prevent long-term issues from developing and can positively, benefit life mentally and physically in the future. The benefit of time management can have a significant impact on one’s personal and social life.

 

To begin with, managing your time can reduce stress levels within your personal life which can allow you to maintain good mental health. Time management methods involve identifying various ways in planning and being productive with one’s time. Various methods include list-making, task analysis scheduling and task prioritization. By using these methods, any individual can maintain a balanced life, consisting of work and fun. For example, during the weekend, many individuals would rather go out, party and enjoy their free time with their friends and family. However, these individuals later return home and realize they don’t have enough time to start working on their assignments, projects and homework. As a result, they are unable to meet deadlines and hand in their work on time, resulting in negative consequences to occur. As the tasks build up, it will be more difficult to complete them on time which will increase your stress levels. Instead, you should prioritize tasks that need to be completed earlier and ensure each assignment is done according to its deadline.

 

Secondly, never procrastinate, because procrastination can lead to work build up which can increase an individual’s stress. In today’s world, technology is the primary reason for procrastination. Television, internet, cellphones and other electronic devices are time consumers and are quite addictive to use. For example, facebooking, tweeting and texting are major distractions that result in no work completion. Instead, these interactions must be shut down and put away from you. Once they’re all off, think with your head and start working and writing everything down. After everything is done, treat yourself to some free time. By doing this, it ensures that all your work is done and this causes you to be stress-free and less worried.

 

Finally, getting the desired amount of sleep your body desires is essential for maintaining optimal health. Getting the desired amount of sleep is important in tackling daily stress and is a useful method to cope with stress. Most people need 7-8 hours of sleep, to allow their body to function properly and efficiently. Science has proven that individuals without sleep have a higher tendency of storing fat and are less functional. Having the right amount of sleep can lead to an healthy and productive lifestyle. Without sleep, your mental health and physical health would worsen and become terrible. For example, if you were a surgeon and you don’t get enough sleep, you might make an human error on one of your patients during a surgery which can result in a fatal outcome. Furthermore, without the right amount of sleep and rest, you can possibly experience depression and other mental health issues, since you’re constantly under pressure and not having a part of your day dedicated to recharging your body. Without a good night’s sleep, it becomes hard to focus and makes you unable to manage your time, since you’re exhausted.

 

Overall, in order to balance an individual’s personal life and health, there are three factors to consider. Firstly, you must develop the ability to properly manage and utilize your time. Secondly, never procrastinate, because procrastination can lead to work building up and results in nothing being completed. Finally, getting the right amount of sleep is the key to maintaining an healthy life and allows you to function properly in your daily life schedule. The overall purpose of these factors is to ensure that long term consequences don’t form such stress, diseases, sickness and mental disorders. Therefore, if an individual’s personal and work life were balanced, it will guarantee all aspects of their health are maintained and upheld.
