Health and Time Management By: Morinda John

Any one whom thinks that time management does not have anything to do with health is wrong. Having the skill of time management is the key towards having an healthy mind and body. Excellent time management, always, includes planning for short term as well as long term and placing tasks from important to least important. A way to organize an individual’s task and projects is by using items such as, a calendar or mobile device. What many people fall victim to is the side effects of poor time management. Poor time management has a negative outcome in your work performance, your self-esteem and your relationships. Even your health is impacted by the usage of time. Time management and health are related and affect each other.

Placing your tasks in terms of importance can help your well-being. An example for how this can help you, in the future, is to avoid eating horrible foods like fast food burgers, going to the gym twice a week and going to bed early. Eat more vegetables and fruits, drink water, often, during the day and take walks outside regularly, for at least twenty minutes. Having short term and long term plans is important to our health, because it will make it harder to waste time. As result, you’re more likely to achieve your goal. According to Paul Minors, usage of a to-do list or calendar will make it harder to procrastinate and as a result you will complete the tasks you wanted to.

Many people do not realize that possessing bad time management will affect their health directly but having great time management is healthy. A person whom manages time well will finish tasks easier than those without. A person with terrible time management has a lower chance of efficient work flow, more wasted time, missed deadlines and poor work quality. All these things lead to stress. Stress, directly, increase heart rate and blood flow. This leads to the release of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood stream which leads to heart disease.

It is more difficult to have horrible time management and be in great condition. A variety of things can affect your health includes stress, lack of sleep, lack of nutrition and unnecessary items digested constantly. All these can be, easily, changed, if you have a great time management. Health and time management are very important factors for your entire life now and in the future.
